Sarah was born in 1859 at Myrangle, near Yullundry, New South Wales, 6th child of James Gallagher and Letitia Rice [1]
Sarah lost her arm in a accident when a child of about 7 (as per copy of letter from father James to his family in Ireland)
Her mother Letitia died when she was 11. Her father remarried, and had another large family with his second wife.
Marriage Age 31 in 1882 at her fathers Hotel. [2]
