Note NI02123Peter Gardner, the seventh child of John and Elizabeth Gardner was born on February 7, 1816. According to the census records, there were two children born before him that did not survive. Peter grew up on the farm in Jenner Township, Somerset County. About the year 1837, he married Barbara Miller. There also may have been a James Gardner in this family born September 1844.
