Richard Davies Garnons Williams was born in 1856.
He was a British Army officer
He was also a Welsh rugby union player who represented Wales, Brecon and Newport. He played in the first Wales international rugby union match in 1881.
Serving as a Lt-Colonel in the 2nd Battalion, Royal Fusiliers, he was killed in the Battle of Loos on 25 September 1915.
