DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Leonard by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Leonard:

Greene Co., PA Deeds, Vol. 7, pages 7-8, FHL #857248, image 8, dated 31 March 1829, James Williamson, Exect. of Leonard Garrison, dec'd, is selling a tract of land in Dunkard Twp., containing 249 acres and 100 perches. This is the same land held by Leonard and his brother Frederick Garrison recorded in Survey Book C-65-144 (not Book 55 as quoted in the deed). James Williamson was the second husband of Leonard's widow, Elizabeth Gray, The Williamson Family, THE TENMILE COUNTRY AND ITS PIONEER FAMILIES, page 665.

There is another Leonard Garrison - Garrison-4931 on Wikitree. In his FAG profile it lists Frederick Garrison as his father. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/148514647/leonard-garrison Both Leonard's are both buried in the same Garrison Cemetery in Greene County, Pa. I don't know if they are related but it seems to be a family cemetery. You can not tell which Leonard is the son of Frederick Garrison by reading Frederick's will. I have Frederick's birth date as 1733 (no documentation for it) and his death date as 1813 (from a Sons of the American Revolution application). It lists his son, George Garrison birth dates as 1760 -1843. Could the older Leonard be Frederick's brother? This is the older Leonard's FAG profile https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/150812070/leonard-garrison. It list's his birth year as 1742. Does anyone have a firm date for Frederick's or the older Leonard's birth year? I am interested in others thoughts.

Thanks, Mary

Fayette County didn't exist in 1758. It was created from Westmoreland County, which was created from Bedford County, and in 1758 was considered Cumberland County.

I am a descendant of Rebecca Garrison Blosser and I've noticed most people on Ancestry.com have linked her to the Revolutionary War soldier named Leonard Garrison as being her father, but there also apparently was a Leonard Lawrence Garrison who was older per this link: http://files.usgwarchives.net/pa/greene/military/revwar/pensions/garris01.txt

Does anyone have any further information about the two and which one is actually Rebecca Garrison's father? I think it's the elder Leonard Garrison, but there doesn't seem to be as much info on him. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
