Biography

Charlotte, daughter of Michel Godet and Marie Joseph Girouard, was born the morning of 25 Feb 1774 and baptized the same day in the parish of Saint Antoine-sur-Richelieu, Province de Québec. Her godparents were Michel Godet and Marie Girouard. ^[1]

Pierre Bernard, son of Francois Bernard and the late Marguerite Saintcenes, and Marie Charlotte Godet, daughter of the late Michel Godet and Josephte Girouard, were married 20 Sep 1791 in the parish of Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu, Province de Québec. Present at the marriage were Michel Godet representing the father of the groom, and Amable and François Bernard his brothers, Michel Godet representing the father of the bride, Marie Magdeleine Godet her sister, Michel and François Coron her brothers-in-law and many others. ^[2]

• Michel Godet is listed as representing the fathers of both the bride and groom. It is not clear if there was one or two Michel Godets or what his relationship was with the bride.
• A sister, Magdeleine Godet, is listed as present at the marriage. There is no baptismal record for her, this is the only record she appears in.
