Claude Gaudet was born about 1712 in Beaubassin (present-day Amherst, Nova Scotia). He was the child of Claude Gaudet and Marguerite Belou and the grandchild of: (paternal) Pierre Gaudet and Anne Blanchard (maternal) Jacques Belou and Marie Girouard.
He married Marie Madeleine Girouard 27 September 1734 in Amherst, Nova Scotia, Canada (Fort Lawrence) (Beaubassin, Acadia).[1][2] Marie Madeleine was born abt. 1712 in , Acadia (Acadie). She died 24 November 1757 in Québec, Québec, Canada (Quebec City) . She was the daughter of Germain Girouard and Marie Doucet.
