Biography

Jeanne Gautrot was born about 1687 in Grand-Pré, Acadie, Nouvelle-France, daughter of Claude Gautrot and Marie Thériot. [1]

Jeanne (15) married Jacques Hebert (25) (born in Port-Royal, Acadie; son of Jean Hébert and Marie Anne Doucet) in 1703 in Grand-Pré. [1]

Their children were:

  1. Jacques Hébert (~1704 - 1779)
  2. Marie Jeanne Hebert (~1709 - <1767)
  3. Pierre Hebert (~1712 - )
  4. Madeleine Hebert (~1714 - 1799)
  5. Magloire Hebert (~1716 - 1780)
  6. Marguerite Hebert (~1718 - <1761)
  7. Joseph (Hebert) Hébert (~1720 - 1803)
  8. Jean Baptiste Hebert (1723 - )
  9. Marie-Josephe Hebert (~1732 - 1756)
  10. Marie-Anne Hébert (~1735 - 1810)

In 1750, Jacques and Jeanne were residing in Rivière-des-Mines or des Hébert with two children. [2] In 1752, they were recorded as refugees at Pré-des-Bourque with two girls, [3] and again at the same location in 1755. [4] [5] In 1755, they escaped deportation by fleeing possibly to Ile Saint-Jean, and from there they made their way to Québec City. [5] They perhaps travelled on the ship Le Dondonnais that left Ile Saint-Jean on 26 July 1756 and docked at the port of Québec on 13 August 1756. [6] Widowed Jacques and several members of his family were on the ship: his daughter Marie-Josephe Hebert and her children, whose husband had been deported without his family to South Carolina, also his daughter Madeleine Hebert and her children. Her husband was deported to Georgia.

Jeanne died between 1755 and August 1756.

Jacques died at age 80 in Quebec city on November 27, 1756,

Need to delete Gautreaux-39 and keep Gautrot-2. Merge does not work (or has not been done) Gautrot-2 has the more accurate data.

Gautreaux-39 and Gautrot-2 appear to represent the same person because: these are duplicates...same name and parents
