Biography

Anne Goverard was born in London, England. Her parents were UNKNOWN Goverard (~1520 - ) and Unknown Goverard (~1520 - ).

Anne Gaveiard married William Glover (1545 - 1603) on November 6, 1578 in Rainehill, London [1] the actual record reads - 16 November 1578 at St Mary, Prescot, Lancashire Wm Glover and An Garrard - there are also baptisms for children of William Glover in both Childwall (about 7 miles from Prescot) and Huyton by Roby (about 3 miles from Prescot) between 1578-1598.

Dame Anne Glover widow of Sir William Glover made her Will 25th November 1612 [2]- requesting she be buried next to her husband in St Stephen Coleman Street - "The Lady Glover" was buried at St Stephen Coleman Street on 15th December 1612;[3]. Probate of her Will was granted 9th February 1612/3;

    This would suggest that William Glover married Anne Wilcox who was previously attached as the wife of William Glover.

There is a burial notice dated 14 Dec 1616 in the register at Maidstone, Kent, for "Glover, Ann, wid.".[6] This is not the same person as the subject of this profile who died in December 1612 and was buried beside her husband (as requested in her Will) at St Stephen Coleman on 15th December 1616.

Agnes must have been b abt. 1548 in order to marry 1578.
