Biography
- Mary Gerst was born in 1762 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, the fourth of ten known children and the second of six daughters of Johan Gerst and Mary Stathalter.
- In 1783, when she was about twenty-one, she married Christian Frantz. She bore him ten known children, two sons and eight daughters:

- Saloma Frantz
- Jacob Frantz
- Anna Frantz
- Esther Frantz
- Elizabeth Frantz
- Mary Frantz
- Magdalena Frantz
- Sally Frantz
- On 8 August 1838, when she was in her mid-seventies , Mary died of unknown causes in Clark County, Ohio.
