Milton J. Gibson was born about 17 August 1830 at Kentucky. He married (1) Edna Owens on 18 April 14, 1849 at Putnam County, Indiana and (2) Sarah J. Danner on 13 September 1888 in Franklin County, Kansas. He died 15 October 1914 at Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas. He is buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Baldwin, Douglas County, Kansas.

Milton Gibson was born about 17 August 1830 [1] in Kentucky. He is believed to be the son of James Gibson and Sarah Phillips.

Milton Gibson's obituary states the following as surviving children of his marriage to Edna Owens: William N. Gibson of Down, Cal.; John Gibson, of Baldwin; Mrs. Eva Ullery, of Richmond; Mrs. Sarah Noel, Mrs. Belle Moore and E.G. Gibson, all of Ottawa.

The Ottawa Daily Republic (Ottawa, Kansas) 15 September 1888 p. 4: Milton J. Gibson, age 58, and Sara J. Danner, age 45, both of Ottawa have been made one flesh. They went to Norwood on Thursday night to have the ceremony performed.
The Evening Herald (Ottawa, Kansas) 16 October 1914 p. 1: Milton J. Gibson Is Dead. Well Known North Side Man in Kansas Since '60. Died Last Night at His Home, 736 North Sycamore Street, after Short Illness - Funeral Tomorrow. Milton J. Gibson, a well known Ottawan, died at 6 o'clock last night after an illness of about eleven days. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock from the home, 736 North Sycamore street. The Rev. Joel A. Barker of the Trinity M.E. church will conduct the services and interment will be in Baldwin Cemetery. Mr. Gibson was born in Kentucky, August 17, 1830, and was married to Miss Edna Owens at Greencastle, Ind., in 1849. She died October 11, 1885. Mr. Gibson was married a second time in 1889 to Mrs. Sarah Danner. She survives. There are six children by the first marriage who are: William N. Gibson of Down, Cal.; John Gibson, of Baldwin; Mrs. Eva Ullery, of Richmond; Mrs. Sarah Noel, Mrs. Belle Moore and E.G. Gibson, all of Ottawa. All children were with their father at his death except William N. Gibson who will not be able to reach Ottawa. Mrs. Flora Sixt of Kearney Mo., a granddaughter of the deceased, is expected here. Mr. Gibson came to Kansas from Appanoose County, Ia., in 1869 and settled on a farm six miles northeast of Ottawa where he lived until seven years ago when he moved to Ottawa. Both Mr. and Mrs. Gibson were well known in North Ottawa and many friends are saddened by his death.
