Simeon was baptised on 19 June 1814 in Or well, Cambridgeshire, England.[1].
Simeon's marriage to Jane Searle (1819-1897)was registered in the Jul-Aug-Sep quarter of 1838 in the Caxton district.[2].
Not long after the marriage, their child Stephen Searle Giddens was baptised on 28 October 1838 in Orwell, Cambridgeshire, England.[3].
In the 1841 census Simeon (age 25) was in Orwell, Cambridgeshire, England.He and Jane appear to be living with her father.[4].

Simeon arrived Geelong 18 April, 1857 with wife Jane and nine of his children aboard 'Bee' which departed Birkenhead 14 January, 1857 [6][7]
