Biography

Mary Gifford was probably born in Dartmouth, Plymouth Colony about 1683. She was possibly the daughter of Robert Gifford and Sarah Wing.[1] She was not named in Robert Gifford's last Will.[2]

Mary Gifford and Nathan Soule were married on 12 June 1705 in Dartmouth, Massachusetts.[1][3]

Mary died at Dartmouth, in January 1772,[1] surviving her husband by thirty-six years. Her last Will was dated 7 January 1772 and proved on 27 January 1772. She named her great-grandson Nathan Davis, son of Job Davis; son George; son Cornelius Soule with his wife Sarah; grandson Joseph Sowle, son of her son Timothy Sowle, deceased; grandchildren Abner Sowle and Ellifell Taber, children of her son Cornelius; Alice and Anne, children of her son George; Joseph, son of her daughter Mary Davis, deceased; Margaret Davel and Content Sheldon [known to be her son Timothy's children]; granddaughters Alice Sowle and Anne Sowle, daughters of her son George; grandson Joseph Davis (under age), son of her daughter Mary Davis. Her son-in-law Joseph Davis and Christopher Gifford, were named as her executors. Her inventory was taken on 16 January 1772 and valued at #132.10.9[4][1]

I believe that Mary's first name was Mercy. That would make her Mercy Mary Gifford.

Nathan's wife was Mary Gifford. Spelling of LNAB should be determined before merging Unknown-42370 & Gifferd-1

Mary Gifferd could not have married this John, since he's dead she married instead Nathan son of George, grandson of George.
