Charles William Gilbert was born at Sturton-le-Steeple on 6 Apr 1867.^[1] He was baptised at Sturton-le-Steeple (St Peter and St Paul) in Nottinghamshire on 30 Sep 1867 with his parents named as William (a wheelwright) and Charlotte Gilbert.^[2][3]

Charles William Gilbert died on 15 Jun 1933^[4] and was buried at Gainsborough Cox's Hill Cemetery, Lincolnshire on 17 Jun 1933.
