Biography

Ted Ginty was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)

Ted was a country property and business owner who bought, sold and managed many properties in Central Western, New South Wales.

One property of memtion is "Quilbone" near Quombone on the Macquarie Marshes. Quilbone has been and still is the residence of Veech and Ginty families for over 150 years. Two of Ted's sisters married Veech boys.

The 1930 census notes that Ted was a Commission Agent at Gulargambone.

Together with family members and marriage relatives he managed country hotels, automotive car sales and service agencies.

His brother Thomas Charles Ginty assisted in many ventures and moved his second marriage family numerous times from Sydney to the country and various properties.

The Holden car agencies were branded "Ginty and O'Leary" and the last of three agencies is still open in Harden, NSW. The current proprietor is proud to keep the name due to the good reputation from the Ginty and O'Leary family name. Pat O'Leary was married to Ted's sister.

Ted's main residence was in Bronte, Sydney for many years and when he died it was at home in Bronte. He passed away in 1985.
