Marriage to Louise (Assiniboine woman) No official documents other than word of mouth. Lawrence Barkwell, Metis Historian, Coordinator of Metis History and Culture Research for the Louis Riel Institute in Manitoba has written several biographies on the local Metis families and has written that the were married "according to the custom of the country". Other than this, there is no actual document proving they were 'legally' married.

Technically Louis’s name at baptism/ birth was Jean dit Godon. As soon as I made that change, the system changed the profile ID.
Jean-1089 is in fact the same person as Godon-20. The profiles should be merged.
I was trying to add Godon-60 to unmatched merges (as the Godon-60) profile manager had asked for a merge, and I asked to hold off until we could sort if it was the same person (I had doubts due to the locations being different).
