Born in Hampshire County, VA (now Hardy County, WV)
Not certain if Jonas was by Margaret (Gray) Goff or Margaret (Parsons) Goff. He served in the War of 1812; never married. Buried Goff Cemetery, on Strode's Creek, near Winchester, Clark County, KY (tombstone only gives his date of death).
