Biography

Harry was born in 1893 per baptism records in Key West, Florida. His father was Manuel Gomez. In 1910, the family was living in Key West, Florida. Harry's father was a widower with 9 children: Frank, Manuel Jr, Mamie, Catherine, Harry, William, Paul, Leo, and Francesco.[1]

Harry married Alice Lucille "Sue" Higgs on 30 Jul 1918 in Monroe County, Florida.[2] They apparently divorced for a period of time as Lucille was listed as divorced and living on Florida Street in 1930 and 1935. Their daughter, Juanita was with her.

In 1940, the family was back together living in Key West, Florida. Harry and his wife had only the one daughter, Juanita.[3]

Juanita Gomez Deason died giving birth to her daughter, who also died, on 29 Oct 1944, in Tennessee. [4] Their bodies were returned to Key West, Florida, and buried together in the Key West Cemetery. Harry's wife, Alice Lucille Higgs Gomez, was buried next to them in 1964.

Harry died in 1967.[5] Burial was in the Catholic section (near Francis Street) of the Key West Cemetery in Key West, Florida. Date of death was listed as 12 July 1967 in the cemetery index records.[6]
