Maria Gordon was born on 11 May 1856 in Lahaina, Maui, Kingdom of Hawai'i. She was the daughter of Henry Gordon and his wife, Lupea Ka'ahanui Pupuka Gordon. [1]
On On 27 January 1878 in Waialua, Oahu, Kingdom of Hawai'i, she married Joseph Kaai Kahoiwai (1854-1925). They had 4 sons and 4 daughters, all born in Hawai'i. Joseph passed away on 17 January 1925 in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii, United States. He was buried at the Liliuokalani Church Cemetery, Haleiwa, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA. [2][3]
Maria survived Joseph's passing for another 22 years. As Maria Lupea Gordon Kahoiwai she passed away on 19 December 1943 in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii, United States. She was buried at Diamond Head Memorial Park, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA; Section: G, R-58. [4] [1]
