Biography
Mary was born in Victoria in 1866[1], in either Murtoa (as recorded on her marriage registration) or Majorca. She passed away in 1938[2].
Mary married John Edward Simmons on 21st of April 1886 at Moor Street, Fitzroy[3] by Nathaniel Kinsman (abt.1823-1898), the so-called "Marrying Vicar" who presided over more than 7,000 marriages.
At the time of her marriage, Mary resided at Kerr St, Fitzroy. She was 19 years old and her occupation was "Assistant". Her mother gave permission for her marriage as she was under 21 years of age and her father was deceased.
