John Simmons was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)

John Edward Simons, son of John Bartlett Simons (bef.1827-1901) and Amelia Treliving (Oliver) Simons (1825-1906), was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, in 1858.^[1]

Shortly after his birth, in 1859 or 1860, the Simons family moved from Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

John Edward Simons and Mary Gorrie were married in 1886 in Victoria, Australia.^[2] Children from this marriage were:
