Everett Gough Sr was born in Appalachia, in West Virginia.

Everett Francis Gough Sr was born 2 June 1904 in Taylor County, West Virginia. He was the son of John Wesley Gough and Dora Minerva Hathaway.

1910 U.S. Census John W Gough (age 40) and his wife Dora (age 35) are living in Grafton,Taylor County, West Virginia with their children: Nina B (age 8, spelled Nira), Everett F (age 15, spelled Evert) ,Adren (age 11/12). They have been married for 16 years. Dora has had 6 children. Only 3 are living. All were born in West Virginia. Nina is in school. John is a Boilermaker for the Railroad. ^[1]

1920 U.S. Census John W Gough (age 49) and his wife Dora (age 45) are in Taylor County, West Virginia with their children: Nina B (age 17), Everett (age 15, spelled Evert) ,Adren (age 10, spelled Adrian) and John W (age 1). They own their home. All were born in West Virginia. All except John Jr speak English. John and Dora can read/write. Nina, Everett and Adren are in school. John Sr is a farmer. ^[2]

1940 U.S. Census Everett Gough (age 35) and his wife Elva (age 34) are living in Knottsville, Taylor, West Virginia with their children Everett Jr. (age 13) and Donald (age 10), Paul (age 8), Vonda L (age 7), and Robert E (age 0). It is the same house as in 1935. Highest grade completed: Everett, Elva, Everett Jr- 7th grade; Donald-4th grade; Paul-2nd grade; Vonda-1st grade. Everett Sr is a printr in a pottery factory. ^[5]

6 June 1951 Everett Francis Gough (divorced, age 46) married Elva Blanche Gough (divorced, age 45) in Clarksburg, West Virginia. ^[6]
