David Graham, 2nd son of James Graham, 1st Duke of Montrose and Christian Carnegie was born on 6 June 1705 and baptised on 9 June 1705 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.[1][2] [3][4][5]

David became the Marquess of Graham from 1707 until his death in 1731[3][4].

He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England[6]

He was created 1st Earl Graham and Baron Graham of Belford [Great Britain] on 23 May 1722, with special remainder to his brothers[3][4][5].

He died before his father on 30 September 1731 at age 26, unmarried[3][4][5].

On his death the title of Earl Graham and Baron Graham of Belford passed to his brother William, 2nd Duke of Montrose[7].
