William was born in 1855.
William is the child of Arthur Grant and Sarah Ann Graham.
In 1861 William was living in Loanhead, Lasswade Parish[1]
In 1871 William lived at Whitehill Engine, Lasswade Parish. He was a miner. [2]
In 1877 William Grant married Jane Young.[3]
In 1881 William was living at 11 The Loan in Loanhead, Lasswade Parish with his wife and one son. He was a coal miner.[4]
In 1891 William was a coal miner living at Dryden Tower with his wife and five children.[5]
In 1901 William lived with his wife Jane and four of their children at 2 West End Cottages, The Loan, Loanhead. He was a coal miner. He was living a few doors away from his father Arthur and his brothers and sisters.[6]
