Biography

Isaac was born 15 Dec 1772[1].

Isaac married Elizabeth Baker 13 Sep 1793 in Salem, Washington, New York. She was born in Colrain, Massachusetts.[2]

Research of John Komar:
Isaac one of the first members of the Associated reformed church of Hebron, New York, organized about 1780. The name of the church has since been changed to the United Presbyterian church in Hebron.[3]

Isaac (and his brother Elihu) were in tax assessment records in Hebron, Washington, New York in 1799, 1800, 1802, 1803. There is also a tax assessment record for Isaac in Salem, Washington, New York in 1802[4]

Death

Isaac died 2 Feb 1822 in Sandy Creek, Oswego, New York.[5][6]
He was presumed to be buried in the Flackville Cemetery, but headstone not located. If indeed he died in Oswego county, lack of a headstone is not unexpected. No headstones documented in Oswego county either (May 2024) [7]

Isaac Gray ,Town of Lisbon died intestate, issued to Elizabeth Gray and Isaac H. Gray, 22 Feb 1822.[8] Isaac Gray, St Lawrence County, letters of administration filed 27 Feb 1822. Inventory filed 25 Jan 1823[9]

The census ages match very will to the list of names and ages of Isaac's known children: 1m<10 (John), 2m10-16 (Alexander and Thomas, 1m 16-18 (David C), 3m 18-26 (2 in household, Elihu and Isaac), 2f<10 (Agnes and Tirzah), 1f 10-16 (Elizabeth), 1f 16-26 (Dorothy - Phebe was married) Isaac was enumerated adjacent to Billius Stocking, his brother-in-law, having married Isaac's sister Patience (Gray) Stocking 3 households away is Isaac's brother Elihu Gray.
