Mary (Grayshaw) Luty was born in England.

Mary was born in 1812. She was the daughter of William Grayshaw and Lucy Holmes.

Mary, aged 6, was Baptised on 6 October 1819 at St Peter (Bradford Cathedral), Yorkshire, England.

Mary Anne Grayshaw married William Luty on 27 November 1836 at St Peter, Bradford, Yorkshire, England.^{[1] [2]}

The family landed at South Australia on the "Harry Lorrequer" in 1849.^[3]
