James Addison Green Jr. married Indiana Elvira Law, or India as she was called, the daughter of David Shelton and Nancy Elvira (Bell) Law, on December 30, 1873, when James and India were both 28 years old.
India and James settled in Etowah County, Alabama, and had the following children:
Bernard L Green (1876–1962)
Newman Law Green (1878–1961)
Thomas L. Green (1879– )
Alston Law Green (1881–1945)
James worked as a bookkeeper to support his family. He died in March of 1928 at 82 years old while India lived until September of the same year. She was 83 years of age. Both of their bodies are buried in the Forrest Cemetery in Gadsden, Etowah County, Alabama, along with many Green relatives.
