Biography

Rachel, daughter of Richard Greenaway and Sarah Ferry, was born in Bethnal Green in 1811 and was baptized at St. Leonard's, Shoreditch, Middlesex on Otober 13, 1817. She married John Grinonneau on July 13, 1836 at St. Mary, Hagerston, Hackney, Middlesex and they had the following children: John 1837, James 1840, George 1841, Joseph 1846, Rachel 1848 and Thomas 1851. The 1851 England census has the family living in Bethnal Green and Rachel is listed as a "hand loom silk weaveress". The 1871 census still has the family living in Bethnal Green. Rachel died in 1893 and was buried on September 2, 1893 at Newham, London, England.
