Biography

John, son of Thomas Grinonneau and Sarah Ann Patau, was born on September 23, 1797 in Bethnal Green, Middlesex and was baptized at St. Matthew, Bethnal Green on January 29, 1800. He married as his second wife, Rachel Greenaway, on July 13, 1836 at St. Mary, Hagerston, Hackney, Middlesex and they had the following children: John 1837, James 1840, George 1841, Joseph 1846, Rachel 1848 and Thomas 1851. The 1851 England census has the family living in Bethnal Green and John's occupation is listed as a "silk weaver". The 1871 census still has the family living in Bethnal Green.
