Biography

Cary R. Griffith was born circa 1849 at New York, USA. He and his parents appeared on the census of 24 Sep. 1850 in the household of his grandfather, Cary Rogers Griffin, at Van Buren, Onondaga Co., New York.^[1] He appeared on the census of 11 June 1855 in the household of his parents, Aaron Griffith and Mary (--?--) Griffin, at Van Buren, Onondaga County, New York.^[2] His father died in 1859 and he appeared on the census of 23 July 1860 in the household of his mother at Van Buren, Onondaga Co., New York.^[3] He appeared on the census of 18 June 1865 in the household of his step-father, Edward J. Williams and his mother at Van Buren, Onondaga County, New York.^[4] He was a wheelwright when he appeared on the census of 18 July 1870 living in the Warren Ingallsby home near Baldwinsville, Van Buren, Onondaga Co., New York.^[5]

He married Henrietta Parks^[6] circa 1873.

He was a farmer when he and Henrietta appeared on the census of 10 June 1880 at Van Buren, Onondaga Co., New York.^[7] He was a laborer in a brick yard when he and Henrietta appeared on the census of 2 June 1900 at Van Buren, Onondaga Co., New York.^[8] He was a carpenter when he and Henrietta appeared on the census of 12 May 1910 at Van Buren, Onondaga Co., New York.^[9] He appeared on the census of 15 Jan. 1920 in the household of his son-in-law, Simpson G. Sellick, and daughter, Frances E. (Griffith) Sellick, they were living next door to his son, LeRoy Griffeth, and daughter-in-law, Hessie (--?--) Griffeth, at South Railroad Ave., Lordsburg, Hidalgo Co., New Mexico.^[10] He appeared on the census of 15 April 1930 in the household of his son-in-law, Simpson G. Sellick, and daughter, Frances E. (Griffith) Sellick, at Roseburg, Douglas Co., Oregon.^[11]

Cary died on 24 May 1930 at Douglas Co., Oregon.^[12]
