Biography

Elizabeth Guernsey was born in 1832 in Bristol, Gloucestershire, England, United Kingdom. She was the daughter of Charles and Sarah Guernsey.

In 1841, aged 8, it appears Elizabeth was living with Margaretta Fox (aged 44), Francis Willis (60), Mary Willis (67), Sophia Griffith (20), Jabez Willis (23), and John Sanders (35). Were these relatives?

Elizabeth married Henry Bowrey in 1851 in Keynsham, Somerset. Making their home in Clifton, Bristol, they had eight children.

Elizabeth (Guernsey) Bowrey migrated from England to New South Wales.

The family migrated to New South Wales (Australia) aboard the Sir William Wallace, which arrived in Townsville, Queensland on 1st October 1881. ^[1]

Aged about 60 years, she passed away on 3rd April 1893 in Leichhardt, New South Wales ^[2] and was buried in Rookwood General Cemetery. She was survived by her husband, four sons and two daughters, and their families.
