Biography

Made daughter's dresses out of feed bags.

Attended Dutch Reform Church.

Volunteer work during World War II, rolled bandages, collected milkweed pods for life jackets.

Heavy woman, no-nonsense personality.

Died of complications from Waldenstrom's Macroglobinemia. She developed acute renal failure before dialysis was begun.

Traded butter for sugar stamps during WWII to make jelly.
