He served the Confederate States of America during the Civil War. He enlisted as a Private in the 34th Alabama Infantry, Company G [2][3]
He died, at the age of 64-65, on May 10, 1886 in Tallapoosa, Alabama. He is buried at the Red Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery in Tallapoosa County, Alabama.[4]
