Biography

Hester Ann Hall was born in June 1870 in Virginia, her father, Henry, was 27, and her mother, Rebekah, was 27. She married Peter F Rookstool on October 31, 1889. They had three children during their marriage. She had five brothers and six sisters.

Mrs. Hester N. Rookstool, mother of Carl F. Rookstool, Hinton, died yesterday morning Newport News Va while visiting another son, Henry Rookstool. She had been in ill health for a number of years. Well known In Summers county, Mrs. Rookstool had lived in Hinton for 45 years. Her husband, P. F. Rookstool, died six years ago. The body will be returned to Hinton on tran No. 47 tonight, and funeral services in charge of the E M. Meadows funeral home have been scheduled for one o'clock Saturday afternoon at the home, 321 Summers street. Burial will be made in the Rookstool cemetery at Alderson. In addition to Carl, of Hinton, and Henry of Newport News, she is survived by another son, C. E Rookstool of Russell, Ky., a brother, R. L Hall of Alderson: and a sister, Mrs. Sally McCallister of Alderson
