Biography

Josiah Hallock performed Patriotic Service in New York in the American Revolution.

Josiah Hallock is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A049719.

Signer of the Association of the 1775 Continental Congress 17 May 1776 and a member of Ebenezer Miller's Second Company. ^{[citation needed]}

Josiah was born 1762. He is the son of Josiah Hallock (1732-1815) and Sarah Reeve (1745-1827).

Josiah married first abt. 1783 to Abigail Hawkins (The History of Joseph Davis lists his first wife as Abigail Hawkins, m. abt. 1783, b. 1761 in Brookhaven, d. 17 Jul 1787, buried Hawkins Cemetery, Yaphank, NY). Their daughter is:

1. Elizabeth Hallock b. 12 Dec 1784, Rocky Point, d. 26 Sep. 1851, married Joseph Davis

Then Josiah married second, abt 1786 Marian Davis b. abt 1766, d. 3 May 1794. (Marian is the daughter of Silas and Rebecca Davis, Mount Sinai). She is buried James Davis Burying Ground, Mt. Sinai. Children, at Rocky Point:

1. Rebecca Hallock b. 10 Jun 1787, d. 1 Mar 1867; m. Isaac Bishop
2. George Hallock b. 15 Nov 1789, d. 1 Dec 1863; never married
