Biography
Catherine was born in Upper Canada. She was living with her parents Patrick and Rosanna Hammond on a farm in Ontonobee township, Peterborough County in 1861.[1] Her parents appear to have emigrated from Ireland around 1835.[2]
She married Thomas Nolan when she was about 19 years old.[3] They raised nine children on their farm in Douro Township, Peterborough County.[4][5][6][7]
After her husband died, Catherine was farming with two of her sons.[8] Catherine died of cancer at age 82 on her farm in Douro Township. She is buried in St. Joseph's Cemtery in Douro.[9]
