Biography

William Hancock is one of my brick walls. No one in the family that I have talked to has any information on Williams family. We believe he was born in Mississippi. Charleen Reed a cousin said she thought he may have been orphaned at a young age and might possibly have lived with neighbors or been in an orphanage. We just do not know. Hoping to find someone that might know about this Mississippi family. Last name may also show up as Handcock. Photos of pages from children's baby books have his mothers name as Mary and father appears to be Izera (this spelling could be wrong) The second page shows mothers name as Serra and fathers name is again Izera. To date no one in the family has been able to find anyone that we believe to be his family Any and all help would be very much appreciated. The first 2 census below 1870 and 1880 has a William Handcock listed that may or may not be our William, I tend to believe it probably is since the families hes with at that time also came to Arkansas from Mississippi.
