Biography

Emily was born in 1821. She is the daughter of Charles Handy and Mary Kibbe *2. ^[1] Emily Moved to Chenago county, New York and subsequently to DeKalb county, Indiana with her Parents. Emilys Family arrived in Wilmington Township, Dekalb County, Indiana in 1837 and was one of the first family to Locate there. They settled at a place later called Handys Corners*3. Emilys father Charles was the first blacksmith in Wilmington Township and later became a Justice of the Peace. Emily Married Isaac Eakright *1 in 1839.
