Baptized as Eduard Hermann Karl at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Chicago on September 1, 1893. Confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in La Porte on April 12, 1908.
Married Elenora Dolly Hough at St. John's Lutheran Church in La Porte on June 10, 1914. Together they had four children: 1. Bernice Martha Emma (b. 11/30/1915 in La Porte) 2. Wilbert Leo (b. 03/22/1917 in La Porte) 3. Robert Edward John (b. 04/28/1919 in La Porte) 4. Mary Jane (b. 02/12/1924 in La Porte)
He attended St. John's Lutheran School through the eighth grade. He was a factory worker for much of his early adult life, working as a polisher and buffer. After the birth of their fourth child, the family relocated to Chicago. Before WWII, his wife and children returned to La Porte while Eddie remained in the Chicago area. He last worked as a newspaper seller while living in Oak Forest.
Died at home in Oak Forest on April 5, 1955. Buried in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery next to his parents on April 7, 1955.

Edward C. Hannemann, 61, of Oak Forest, Ill., died at 4 o'clock yesterday morning after an illness of more than three months. Mr. Hannemann, a polisher and buffer, was born in Chicago, to to Charles and Mary Hannemann on Aug. 9, 1893. He was married in LaPorte to Eleanor Hough, who survives. He moved to Oak Forest from LaPorte 10 years ago. Besides his wife, surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John Metts, Union Mills, and Mrs. Mary Jane Pilafas, Chicago; two sons, Wilbert and Robert, LaPorte; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Harry Porter, Wellsboro, Mrs. Claude Moore, Waterloo, Ia., and Mrs. Paul Bates, New Carlisle; four brothers, Albert, Walter, Rudolph, and Herbert, all of LaPorte. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Haverstock Funeral home. The Rev. Wilber H. Dickinson will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at Haverstock chapel today and until the time of services.
