Biography

This profile is part of the Harbron Name Study.

Charles was born in about 1838 in Sculcoates, York, England. He was the last born child of John Harbron and Eliza (Guy) Harbron prior to her passing in 1839.[1]

In the 1841 census Charles (age about 3) was living with his Aunt Mary on Junction Dock Street in Kingston upon Hull, Holy Trinity, Yorkshire, England.[1] It's unclear where he was living in 1851 but in 1861 he was still living with Aunt Mary. She was employed as domestic help and he was a Marble Mason.

They were boarders in Sculcoates, Yorkshire, England at the residence of Dr. Huntington's home and office.[2]

In 1863 he married Emma Lazenby at Hull St. Mark's parish church on 30 March 1863. Charles Levitt Harbon was of full age, a bachelor and a Mason living at Hyperion Street in Drypool. His father was listed as John Harbron, Joiner.

Emma Lazenby was 19 years old and a spinster living at Hyperion Street, Drypool. Her father was William Lazenby, a Carter.

They were married by Banns by G.W.H Tayler, Incumbent. Charles and Emma both signed their full names. Witnesses to the marriage were Thomas William Usill Leggott and Charlotte Ann Leggott (sp?) [3]

Charles died at the age of about 51 between March and June 1889 in Sculcoates, Yorkshire East Riding.[6]
