Biography

Annie Harbron was born on 5 February 1875 in Court House Road, Dundalk, Louth, Ireland. She was the daughter of Frederick Harbron, carpenter & upholsterer, and Anne Ferguson.[1]

In the 1901 census Annie (age 26) was living in Toxteth Park, Lancashire, England with her Aunt Mary Murdoch and working as an Upholstress, a trade she would have learned from her father.[2]

When Annie was 27 she married Walter James Glynn on 23 August 1902 in Liverpool, Lancashire, England. The couple had 3 children: Minnie Glynn, Walter Glynn and Ethel Glynn. Prior to the wedding she was living at 82 Orwell-road, Kirkland, Cumberland, England.[3]

In the 1911 census Annie (age 36) was living in Walton on the Hill, Lancashire, England. Marital Status: Married Relation to Head: Wife.[4]

In 1920 according to an electoral register Annie (age about 44) was living at 2 Kinder Street, Lancashire, England. living with sister Minnie and brother in law Edwin Humphries.[5]

In 1939, according to the England Census Annie was living with her son Walter, a brass fitter. She was 63, a widow and working as an Upholstress and house furnisher. They lived on 6 Sykes St. Liverpool, Lancashire, England. In the 1939 Census they requested a full date of birth. Annie listed her birth month as February, but an X was placed in the date and the year. [6]

In 1945 according to an electoral register Annie (age about 69) was living alone at 15 Dalrymple Street, Liverpool, Lancashire, England. [7]

Annie died at the age of 80 on 21 December 1955 in Liverpool, Lancashire, England.[8][9] She was buried on 24 December 1955 at the Church of England Cemetery in Liverpool, Lancashire, England.[10]

Research Notes

  • She's listed as a widow, but it looks like Walter moved to Australia and had another family.
  • He went to Australia in 1912, a year after the last time he showed up on a census record.
