Ivy married Mervyn Arthur Giggins on 21 Jun, 1936^[2] at the Methodist Church, Muswellbrook, New South Wales, Australia. Cecil Hardes, Ivy's brother, walked her down the aisle. Amy Hardes acted as bridesmaid to her sister. Eric Giggins, the brother of the groom, was best man.^[3]
