John was born on August 29th, 1850 in Pleasant, Ohio. He was the youngest son of John Hart and Margaret Taylor.[1]
He married Sarah Jane Humpshier sometime between 1866 and 1874 (assuming marriage was between atleast 16 years of age & before birth of their first child). The couple seems to have had 3 children; Nettie, Arthur and John Walter. They raised their children and lived their lives together in the Noble County area of Indiana.[2][3][4][5] Throughout the years to couple took on boarders in their home as seen on several census'.
John held a few different jobs throughout his life including but not limited to; a well digger in 1880, a house building contractor in 1910 & 1920. The family appears to have done decent for themselves as their value of their home listed on the 1920 census was $8,000, much higher than most around them.
John passed away in 1932 in his early 80s. He was laid to rest in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Kendallville, Noble County, Indiana with several close and extended family members.[6]
