She died, at the age of 81, on January 22, 1943 in San Angelo, Texas.[1] She is buried at the Water Valley Cemetery, Water Valley, Tom Green County, Texas.[2]

Possibly Sallie and her husband moved with her father and mother out to Tom Green County since the last of their children were born in Water Valley, Tom Green County, Texas. Several of the Hartley children made the move with their parents.
