I was born in Pennsylvana Hospital, Philadelphia, PA, the second child (of 3) of my parents, and the only girl. We lived in Haddonfield, NJ the first couple of years of my life, then in Wallingford, Delaware County, PA where my parents built a house. We had to leave that house during the depression but my parents rented it to a family who could afford it. Our family then lived in less expensive rental homes in Upper Darby and Lansdowne, moving back to Wallingford when I was about 12 and entering the 7th grade. . I graduated from Swarthmore High School in 1945, , Bradford Jr. College in 1947, the Berkeley School of Business in New York City in 1948. I then worked for a few year before marrying in 1950. After my three children were all in school, I returned to college, getting undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Pennsylvania in 1972 and 1975. I worked as a.Reading Specialist for Friends Central School and the Child Study Institute of Bryn Mawr College.
My three children were born in the 1950's. My husband and I now have 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
My interest in genealogy began over 50 years ago and has been a source of great joy as well as great frustration. The changes in how to do the research has been remarkable to have witnessed. The internet has allowed me, now in my 90's, to continue this wonderful, all consuming hobby.

Hi MaryLee, Only members of Wikitree can receive Project badges. The Mayflower project does not yet have an official Mayflower Sticker that can be used on other profiles.
I've added you to the trusted list of Edith Brown Land (Land-458). Edith and I are distant cousins, having both descended from Joseph Alexander Land ( Land-144) who was my paternal fifth great grandfather. That would make us cousins as well! Best Regards.
It's good to have you here at WikiTree, and I hope that you are still interested in sharing your tree with us. Have you had a chance to explore yet? If you need any help getting started or have any questions, please don't hesitate to message me.
My immigrant ancestor on my father's side arrived in Philadelphia in 1727 on the ship William and Sarah. Many of my ancestors came very early, but I have not gotten them back to their ships yet. My husband is a Mayflower Descendant. I have information to share on some of my families. Mary Lee Young
