I am always willing to help someone with their genealogy research - ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ASK! I am not an expert, but have learned much and am willing to learn more and share it.

I am looking for other direct lineage "Hastings" family members to possibly confirm family relationships with Thomas Hastings (1605-1685) by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. I can be reached here or via email: jimbarbhastings@live.com.

* Paternal relationship is supported by a small cross-platform triangulated match -- a 10.2 cM match on GEDmatch between James Hastings and his 4C1R Doug Murphy, which overlaps a 23.1 cM match on MyHeritageDNA between the same Doug Murphy and his double 4C1R "D.R." who is also a 4th cousin of James Hastings. The overlapping segment is only 3.5 cM on chromosome 2. The most-recent common ancestors shared by all three are Nathaniel Hastings III (1773-1834) and Elizabeth (Webster) Hastings (1786-1846).
