Samuel Temple Hayden was born on July 1, 1748 in Hopkinton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts Bay, son of John Hayden and Lucy Maynard. ^[4]

Samuel (22) married Katherine Palmer in Mendon, South Huntingdon Township, Westmoreland, Pennsylvania on May 9, 1767. ^[4]
