Susannah Heal was born in 1840 in Burrington, Devon, England, United Kingdom. She was the daughter of James Heal & Mary Ann Newton.^[1]

• GRO has been checked for any children born with the Surname Pope and mother's maiden name Heal between 1863-1892. The filter for "Similar Names" was selected to catch spelling errors. There was another couple, James Pope & Elizabeth Hale in Bedminster with children's birth registrations recorded with the same naming combo. Every effort has been made to ensure the children also showed up on census records with the family. All children with this family have been found in the Crediton district
