Samuel Stevens (1677-1718) was married to Elizabeth Barker, and only Elizabeth Barker, which can be amply demonstrated with probate and land records. The 1718 probate record includes widow Elizabeth. The final division of the estate did not occur until 1754.

Samuel did not leave a will and his estate entered probate 14 April 1718 administered by widow Elizabeth. On 27 May 1754, the following heirs signed that they received their portions of the personal estate from their mother Elizabeth Stevens: John Stevens, David Stevens, Mark How (husband of Mary), Esther Wilkins and Thomas Wilkins, and Hephzibah Stevens. The inventory was missing from the file, but the real estate inventory prepared in 1754 in anticipation of the estate division provided inventory of sixth parts of the two-thirds of the real estate not set for the dower. Each of those sixth parts was valued at £54.8.0. Mother Elizabeth was allowed as guardian for son Samuel on 14 April 1718 with William Barker providing surety for the bond (the guardianship files for the other children were not located). (Essex County, MA: Probate File Papers, 1638-1881.Online database. AmericanAncestors.org. New England Historic Genealogical Society, 2014. Case 26423)

Several land transactions were made among the children from 1753 to 1755 related to the settlement of the estate. On 5 October 1753, Samuel Stevens with wife Hephzibah sold to brother David Stevens his interest in the dwelling house. On 31 December 1755, Hephzibah Stevens widow of Samuel sold real estate parcels to David. On 3 December 1755, David Stevens sold his interest in the real estate to his brother Joshua. (Massachusetts Land Records, Essex County, 102:238, 102:239)

The Samuel Stevens who perhaps married Rachel Heath was of Salisbury and that is a different line from the John Stevens of Andover line.
