Biography

Etienne Hebert III was born 23 Nov 1684 in Les Mines, Acadia, . He was baptized on 13 May 1686 in Les Mines, Grand Pré, Acadia, son of Éstienne Hebert (abt. 1654–1713) and Jeanne Comeau (abt. 1662–aft. 1725). His godparents were Michel Hebert and Cecile Melanson.[1]

In 1686, at Baye des Mines, Estienne [sic], aged 1, was living with his parents, Estienne HEBERT, aged 32, and Jeanne COMMEAU [sic], aged 24, and his two siblings: Antoine, aged 6, and Marie, aged 4. The family owned 2 guns and was living on 8 arpents of cultivable land with 7 cattle and 7 hogs.[2]

Census:1693, age 6 years.

About 1707, Etienne married Anne Dugas (born about 1686 in Acadie; daughter of Abraham Dugas and Jeanne Guilbeau).
