Corinna Henderson was somewhat of a mystery. She never married and was teaching school at Plainview public schools in Hale County in 1910 at the age of 23. To this date, the family is not sure whether she moved to New Mexico, was teaching with her aunt in El Paso, or was merely visiting her grandparents in New Mexico when she died in 1917 at the age of 31. There are vague references to "bad water" and a "diseased mind" that might indicate typhoid fever. There was an outbreak of typhoid fever in Loving just a few miles away in 1915. Did she have a teaching position there? It is unknown whether she was buried in New Mexico or if she was buried in Texas where other members of her family resided.
